As a Trim Healthy Mama, Yogurt, Oats, and Berry Bowl Recipe is one of my two go-to energizing breakfasts on the farm. One of the pitfalls of Trim Healthy Mama is getting stuck in S mode. You can read more about E versus S mode here. The other go-to breakfast is Farmhouse Creamy Eggs with Veggies Skillet which is an S meal. I wrote about my Trim Healthy Mama journey and 10 Veteran Tips. One of the tips I shared was to find meals you like and eat them often.
Now, if you don’t like to read all about the stories behind recipes, go ahead and click the “jump to recipe” button or scroll through all this chit-chat. Farm Fresh Ingredients
We also have a jersey cow who gives us fresh milk every day. We have an abundance of milk. As part of my milk routine, I make yogurt in my Instant Pot twice a week. During the summer, we grow strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries in our garden. However, our berry production cannot keep up with my 5 children. This breakfast is ultra-cheap for me. If you don’t count the cost of keeping the cow, it is free!
If you follow Trim Healthy Mama, this is an E or Energizing recipe. Pair it with a Basic Coffee Trimmy and you are all set with a delicious, energizing breakfast. If you are not a coffee drinker, you might like Spiced Matcha Tea.
One note about this recipe is that I do not cook the oats before adding them to the bowl. I used to, but I like it just as well with uncooked oats. You could certainly cook the oats before adding them. You could also use a plan approved (E) granola in place of the oats. I really enjoy the bowl that way, but my children gobble up granola before I can have some.
