Tool Gifts for Men on the Homestead and Farm
Multi-tool
A good multi-tool is essential for any farmer. Both my husband and I use ours all the time. The pliers and knife are probably the top tools on it, but I also use the screwdriver and saws often. My husband is way handier than I am so he utilizes many of the other tools. A matching holder is also a great gift.
Pocket Knife
Even though many multi-tools have knives on them. A good, stand-alone pocket knife is an essential farm tool. A good pocket knife can save a life. If for some reason, a farmer gets hung up or clothing caught, a knife is a lifesaver. A multi-tool usually needs two hands to open, whereas a knife can easily be opened with one hand. It is also a quick, easy tool to pull out to cut twine and a multitude of other things. I don’t know how many times, I have wished I had a knife.
Flashlight
Another essential tool, especially during the long, cold dark winter months, is a flashlight. During the depths of winter, many farmers don’t even start evening chores until after dark. A good flashlight comes in handy for doing many tasks in the dark from feeding cattle to looking for a lost animal. This flashlight is small but very bright. It would make a great stocking stuffer.
Clothing Gifts for Men on the Homestead and Farm
Homestead and farm men spend a lot of time outdoors in both the summer and the winter. I am going to share with you my top gift picks from head to toe for both summer and winter.

This affordable hat is a best seller and for good reason. It is the perfect hat for farming. A few advantages to this sunhat is a wide brim to protect from the sun and an adjustable chin strap for windy days or riding on the tractor. This hat is also packable and waterproof. It comes in a variety of colors, but as a farmer, I prefer the darker colors to hide the dirt.
Warm Hat
Depending on what part of the country you live in, this trooper trapper hat may be a little extreme. Here in the upper midwest, it gets cold. love this hat because of the earflaps and the removable facemask. It is also waterproof and adjustable. Perfect for those cold chore days.
long underwear
A good set of long underwear warms from the inside out during chores on cold winter days. These long underwear are fleece-lined for extra warmth. They come in a variety of colors and sizes.
Winter Work Gloves
Keeping your hands warm during winter chores is challenging. These gloves are tough and warm. Depending on climate and the job, there will be different gloves, but these are a great, all-around durable glove.
Overalls
Insulated Overalls are another essential winter clothing item. These overalls are tough, warm, and comfortable. He will be grateful for these wonderful overalls. They are wonderful for cold, windy, snowy days.
Socks
A good pair of socks make a huge difference in keeping your whole body warm. Cold feet can make a farmer miserable, so buy him good, warm socks. These socks are designed to wear with boots. There is nothing worse than having your socks fall down in your boots while you are trying to work. That won’t happen with these socks.
Boots
Finding good, warm, tough winter boots are essential for winter chores. My husband has two pairs. The first pair of boots is for normal winter weather. They are waterproof and lined. Great for mild fall, winter, and spring weather.
The second pair of boots are for extreme winter weather. These are my favorite winter boots. These boots are warm and comfortable. They are also not too heavy.
