How do you find peace with God?
Whether we can identify it or not, we all have a longing in our soul to find peace with God. But how can you find that peace?
It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Matthew 4:4
You see this verse at the end of my articles and recipes on this website, but what does it mean?
I am so glad you asked. This article is the MOST IMPORTANT article on my entire website. It explains how you can find peace with God.
How to have a relationship with God
To find peace with God, you need to develop a relationship with Him. But how do you develop a relationship with the God of the Universe? It is quite simple, but, as humans, we tend to complicate it.
The Bible says that there is only one way.
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6
A relationship with God must come through Jesus Christ. How do you have a relationship with Jesus Christ?
It is as simple as ABC
- Admit you are a sinner in need of a Savior
- Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ
- Confess that Jesus is Lord
Admit you are a sinner in need of a savior
Romans 3:23 says For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.
There is not one person that can stand before God and say they have never sinned. Not you, not me, not anyone. The only person who ever lived a sinless life is Jesus Christ. We are all sinners in need of a Savior.
Romans 6:23 says For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Jesus Paid your debt
The wages (or payment) for your sins is death. In this case, eternal death. What is eternal death? It is not pleasant to think about, but eternal death is living forever in hell. A place of fire and brimstone and continual torment.
God doesn’t want us to go to hell. He sent His only begotten Son so that we may have eternal life in heaven with Him.
Romans 5:8 says But God commendeth his love towards us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Jesus Christ, who lived a perfect, sinless life, died on the cross for your sins, so that you can live with Him in Heaven. He paid your wages for your sin.
Believe On The Lord Jesus Christ
Romans 10:9-10 say
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Confess that Jesus is Lord
Romans 10:13 says For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
There are no special prayers or words to say. Just confess your sins to God and ask Jesus to come into your life and be your Lord from your heart. It will be the most important decision you ever make.

Peace With God
During these unprecedented times, it is easy to become discouraged, depressed, and hopeless. However, when you know the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior, you can have peace, regardless of the circumstances around you.
John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
There was a time in my life where I was really lost and my heart was very empty. No matter what I did, I could not fill the void in my heart.
I tried so many things to fill it. Some were good things like healthy living, higher education, world traveling, volunteering. However, some things I tried were harmful such as drugs and alcohol, casual relationships, and a party lifestyle. No matter what I tried, the emptiness remained.
I decided to study religions. One of the many things I tried was Eastern meditation. I studied Buddhism. I read about many other religions and spiritual beliefs. Nothing filled the emptiness in my heart.
From Death to Life
I decided to read the Bible beginning in Genesis. I found it difficult to read and understand.
At the same time, my life began to fall apart. I lost my job due to budget cuts. I got kicked out of my apartment due to my aggressive dog. My relationship with my boyfriend ended. I felt like I was in a downward spiral.
When I left my job, a co-worker wrote me a letter and sent me a pamphlet about Christianity. The pamphlet said that becoming a Christian gives you peace. That is what I had been searching for. I wrote my co-worker back and he explained to me how to find the peace of God.
I prayed and asked Jesus to save me. Once I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior, my entire life changed. I had a new purpose and I had the peace that I had been searching for. I also have an eternal home in heaven.
Philippians 4:7 says
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Would you like to find the peace that passeth all understanding? Pray and ask Jesus Christ to save you today.
